Students presenting their final year projects at the Institute of Chemical Sciences, BZU Multan

Session hosted by Dr. Saadat Majeed

What happened at BZU Multan

Every year, graduating students at the Institute of Chemical Sciences put months of work into their final projects. The problem is that most of those projects never leave the lab. They get assessed, marked, and then shelved, and the students move on without any real sense of how their work connects to the bigger picture of industry and applied research.

The Final Project Display 2026 was built to change that. Organised by Dr. Saadat Majeed, who has been part of the WEmpower Pakistan ambassador network and understands the gap between what universities teach and what industry actually needs, the exhibition gave students a platform to present their work in a way that invited genuine engagement rather than just evaluation.

WEmpower Pakistan came in as a partial sponsor because we believed in what Dr. Majeed was trying to do. Getting innovative research in front of the right people at the right stage of a student’s career is exactly the kind of bridge we exist to build. We were proud to contribute to making it happen.

What made this event matter

  • Empowering student innovation — Students received critical funding and resources to professionally display their scientific projects, giving their work an audience beyond the classroom.
  • Industry alignment — Projects were presented with a focus on real-world application, connecting young researchers to industry standards rather than keeping the work confined to academic frameworks.
  • Ambassador leadership — Dr. Saadat Majeed drove this entire initiative through WEmpower Pakistan’s ambassador network, demonstrating exactly what happens when local academic talent is supported and given room to lead.

Why the ambassador network matters

WEmpower Pakistan operates through a decentralised model. Rather than trying to run everything from the top, we invest in people on the ground: researchers, academics, and professionals who are already embedded in the communities they want to serve. Dr. Majeed is a strong example of that model in action.

By supporting events like this one, we can have a presence at universities across Pakistan without being physically everywhere at once. The ambassador carries the relationship with the institution, understands the culture and the students, and knows where the gaps are. We provide the backing, the brand, and the broader network.

If you are a faculty member, researcher, or professional who wants to organise something similar at your institution, we would love to hear from you. The ambassador program is open and we are always looking for people who want to drive change in their own corners of Pakistan.
